Our next meeting is November 15th. 6pm-6:30pm Media Blast! Chromebooks will be set up for us to post reviews of Scott to Greatschools, Yelp, and other websites. 6:30-8pm Clothing Drive. Contact Kristen Fletcher Hoffman to volunteer at Scott!

PPS is hosting a listening session on opening two new middle schools at Harriett Tubman and Roseway Heights.
When: 5:30-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12
Where: Madison High School Cafeteria, 2735 NE 82nd Ave., Portland, 97220
Members of the Scott School Community should attend to learn more about the plan, which converts Scott into a K-5 school and sends 6-8 grade students to Roseway Heights. Please wear red to show your support for Scott School.

Summary of Plan posted by PPS: “Portland Public Schools is moving toward a middle school model for students in grades 6-8 as a way to provide expanded options and stronger programs to more students. In April, the PPS Board directed the district to open two middle schools by fall 2018 at Harriet Tubman and Roseway Heights. District planners have developed a detailed framework for the components of exemplary middle schools to be used as a guide.”
On Wednesday, September 13th, the PTA will hold its first PTA Meeting and Potluck of the new school year. Every member of the Scott School Community is invited to attend.
Starting at 6pm, we will share a meal at tables under the Covered Pavilion in the back of the school while the PTA Board welcomes everyone to the new year and introduces themselves. Attendees are encouraged to bring a food dish to share.
We plan to share a lot of useful information including ways to get connected at Scott. We will also share the schedule for upcoming PTA meetings and other Scott School related activities. We hope you are able to join us! Oh…and the best part? Ice cream desert will be provided. 🙂

Calling all Volunteers! You can help enhance the quality of your family’s Scott School experience by sharing your time with our active, involved Community. From helping move tables to organizing an entire event, whatever your availability, the school needs you. Not only will you benefit directly, but the entire school benefits when we share our time and expertise with everyone.

Please join us at Scott School from 9-1pm on Saturday, August 26th for Project Community Care Day and Picnic!
Come any time between 9-12 to help clean. Bring gloves, garden tools, blowers, weed-wackers, or other tools if you can. We have had some extra help this summer and the school yard is looking great, so lets get together and make sure it’s 100% ready for kids’ first day. We’ll also freshen up the painted playground games.
Stay for a picnic from 12pm-1pm. Hotdogs, chips, drinks and Otter Pops will be served! This is a great way to support the school and get to know our amazing Scott community. Our new Principal, Gina Roletto, will be in attendance for a meet-and-greet.
